Appropriating media from the early 2000s — like truck commercials and country music videos — I edit out the subjects (trucks and country singers) focusing instead on secondary footage used to enhance narrative and add context to film & video, also known as B-roll.
In Country (2024), country music video clips are layered and replayed becoming progressively more pixelated and abstract suggesting cultural breakdown or collapse.
In Everything But the Truck (2023), all images and explicit references to trucks are edited out of a dozen truck commercials.
